The Bukavu Project is a project set up to raise support for Bukavu Bible College, Congo.

This project is run independently and is responsible for its own finances, which are handled through Hope Church missions account. It has the support of Assemblies of God in the UK through their World Ministries department and is financially supervised through Hope Church West Bromwich.

The project is managed by Gill Shiels, who is married to David Shiels and they have recently retired from pastoring Hope Church in Stone Cross West Bromwich.

Gill was born into a missionary family – her parents, Idris and Ruth Parry were missionaries with Assemblies of God for many years in China, Tibet and Congo, (if you want to read more about their story, Ruth Parry’s autobiography – ‘Impossible to Imagine’ is available through Amazon). Gill was born in the East of Congo.  Gill and David are on the leadership of the Assemblies of God church in West Bromwich. Gill teaches at the International Bible Training Institute in East Sussex, England.
